David Petersen

Printer-Friendly Format

David Petersen grew up in Oklahoma a long time ago, a teenage member of the same archery club as Betty Grubbs, the reigning field archery Women's National Champion during the 1960s.

After serving six years in the Marines as a helicopter pilot, Dave began his writing career by editing a national motorcycle magazine in southern California. In 1980 he and his bride Caroline drfited from California to western Montana, then on to southwestern Colorado, where they hand-built and live year-round in a small mountain cabin in the heart of elk country.

Petersen is the author of 15 books and countless magazine articles and essays. In addition to being a regular contributor to TBM, Dave co-authors the back-page "Campfire Philosopher" column.
