Traditional Events

In all my years as the Subscription Queen and customer service for Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, the number one question of all time was..."What bow should I buy?" We have lots of great bowyers that advertise in our magazine and even some great bowyers that don't. And what appeals to me, may be the last thing you would choose for yourself. My suggestion? Attend a traditional event.

There are four or five big vendor shows, as well as lots of local shoots around the country where vendors would love to show you their products. The next one coming up is the Traditional Expo in Kalamazoo, Michigan January 29-31, 2010. Several others are listed on our calendar and if you know of one that isn't there, please tell us about it.

Most folks can't just walk into a sporting goods store and pick up what they need for traditional archery. By attending shows you will be able to see, feel and even test bows. Meet the bowyers and get a feel for their personality and dedication to the sport. It is a great way to get everything you need in one place and carry it home. The seminars, collections and all around good time with fellow archers just adds to the fun. Make a plan to attend one of the big shows, especially if you are shopping for a bow, arrows, broadheads, knives, sharpeners, clothes, books...
